What is açaí?

Açaí (ah-sigh-EE) is a deep-purple berry native to the Amazon region of Brazil, loved for its distinctive flavour and rich, vibrant colour.

Açaí is rich in flavonoids, the natural compounds behind its deep purple colour, which researchers study for their antioxidant properties (FAO, 2011).

For generations, açaí has been part of everyday life in Brazil. Today, it has become a global favourite among people looking for exciting flavours and a fresh take on frozen treats.

Our story

From Latin America, back home to Bulgaria.

Açaí Club Bulgaria is a family story.

Our founder, Kristina, is Bulgarian, but she spent fifteen years living in Latin America. There she built a social business around a simple idea: good, natural food should be easy to get. Its vending machines put that food within people’s reach.

Then food became personal. Kristina’s second child has multiple food allergies, so every treat comes with questions. Açaí became one he could simply enjoy, and he’s been eating it ever since.

Now the family is back in Bulgaria, and açaí has come home with them.

We want it to be easy to find, easy to serve and easy to love, one partner and one cup at a time.
